ROBERT AUGUST, PHD
What motivates you as a writer?
Ever since I can remember, I have obsessively pondered the nature of the universe and the evolving role of people in it. Over time, the former drove me to be a physicist, the latter a writer. As a writer, my primary focus is how cutting edge science impacts the human experience.
What types of books do you like to read?
In fiction, I like beautifully written works that shine a light on the meaning of life.
How has becoming a writer affected your own reading habits?
I gravitate toward books focused on whatever my current obsession might be, which is almost always what I'm writing about at the time. I tend to alternate between writing a lot and reading a lot.
